ISP - Internet Service Provider
  • An ISP is required to establish a connection to the internet. Generally, an ISP will provide the following
    • A local phone number to establish your internet connection

    • One E-mail account

  • If you can access the internet you already have an ISP

WPP - Web Presence Provider
  • A WPP is required to host your web site. In plain English this means you rent disk space on a computer that has the capability to allow people from all over the world to access its files.
  • A WPP allows you or a designee to upload files
Registration
  • Domain Address

    • A registrar acts like an internet postmaster. They assign you an address so that whenever someone wants to visit your website, they use an address to find it.

     

  • Domain Name

    • Your domain address is in numeric format. Computers can easily read domain addresses. However, humans find it difficult to remember domain addresses. By associating a friendly name with your domain address it helps humans remember your web address. For example, your domain address might be 123.45.678.9 and your domain name associated with it might be www.companyname.com.

 

Setup

  • We may charge a one time fee to handle the site preperation and to install any special software for your website.

 

 

Site Design

  • Web pages have to be coded or tagged so that it can be read by your internet browser - the software on your computer. The language used to code the pages is called Hypertext Markup Language, or HTML for short. We will handle all the coding for you.  A web page is considered the amount of text and images that can be viewed on your screen plus 1/2 of the images and text that is below  what is display on your screen without scrolling down. This is often referred to as a fold and a half.

  • You may require special software on your website to perform specific task. For example, you make want to take order and have the customer use a credit card to pay for the order at the time the order is placed. We can tailor your site  to handle special request.
